Trail Talk: Issue 44: Lee DePoy
Lee DePoy has a brand-new way to get around the Royal Center area: a sleek, new three-wheeled trike. Nearly every morning, weather permitting, Lee pedals out from his home on the north side of town to hit the Panhandle Pathway. His routine route takes him up to Thornhope, and on more ambitious days, all the way to Pulaski County Road 800 South. Living right alongside the trail makes this morning ritual quick and effortless.
For Lee, there is no better way to greet the day than on three wheels. The early morning hours offer a perfect, cool start to breathe in the crisp country air before the summer heat sets in. While it is a peaceful time for him to gather his thoughts, he is rarely alone; he frequently swaps nods with other early risers enjoying the pathway. If you spot Lee out on the trail, be sure to wave or call out a friendly greeting. He is doing exactly what he loves.
